When it comes to blogging I'm on top of my game, however when writing really matters I'm rubbish.
I've wasted hours this afternoon struggling to compose a piece for a magazine and I'm wondering why. What happens to my belief, brain and creativity when it comes to serious writing? Oh this post is a doddle because I'm not trying to impress an editor and his/her pals, this is purely recreational writing for a few loyal fans, one of whom is a relative, one a husband and the others, chums and lovers.
Put a brief in front of me and I freeze, it's as simple as that. My creative juice turns rock hard, I become paralysed and then some awful fiend possesses my body and rips the pen from my hand. I forget how to write. I struggle to make a sentence. I am not blogging Gloria any more who writes effortlessly every few hours, instead I stumble over words changing from a jolly blogger into a stiff, frightened woman who has lost her gift. And joy.
This amazing metamorphosis is a mystery.
But I have a plan. I'll imagine I'm writing an overly long blog post and see where it leads.... Probably lying dead at the end of the delete button.

Thanks Dig
This post is inspired by my very witty blogging buddy.
If I were a vegetable what vegetable would I be? Without doubt, a Spring Onion. Slender. Has a kick in the bulb. Loves having its head licked.
.....a musical instrument? Mouth Organ. Small and handy. And little boys want them.
......a beverage? Hot chocolate. Comforting, expensive and right at any time.
......a colour? Blue. I am everywhere, in the sky, in everyone's vocabulary.
......a tea time cake? Cream Filled Scone. Homely. Satisfying. And everyone likes pulling them apart. They are also currantless.
......a weapon? Knuckle duster. Pocket-sized, effective.
......a fast food meal? Sweet and Sour Chicken. Gaudy, delicious and without doubt the poor man's Caviar.
.......an illness? Backache. A real pain. Sometimes. Greatly cursed but suffered with dignity.
........a traffic signal? Green. God's colour. Great stress reliever.
.........a cartoon character? Jerry. Unbelievably fortuitous. Agile. And always comes out alive however many times he's flattened with a frying pan.
.........a weather? Sunny sky then clouds muscling in. Then sun again.
.........an ornament on someone's window? A slightly built ceramic waif bending down to pat her shaggy golden dog who in turn stares up at his mistress with brilliantly blue eyes. Price 75p.
........a garden pest? Ant. Industrious. Quick on their pins. Misunderstood.
........a type of pasta? Macaroni. Much derided. Old fashioned. Lovable lumps.
