Ruth Gordon as Abigail Mitchell in Columbo...'Try and Catch Me'

Update from my earlier post.....

Didn't do much just dragged one of the de-booked bookcases from here to there, then, after re-booking I rearranged the ceramic cats, dislodged dust and Snickers wrappers from all over and ever so slightly shoved my big telly a little thisaway! A couple of inches DOES make a difference to a lady's over all happiness.

While all this palaver was going on I had a videoed Columbo on, the one with the brilliant Ruth Gordon (Old Minnie in Rosemary's Baby) where she is the crime writer who locks a young man in her safe where he suffers death by lack of oxygen. Revenge is a dish best served blue:) Anyway it was a little background fun for me.
And then I was finished...
Much pleasure upon the eye Sir!

Now I play:)

Funny Thursday

I like Thursdays.
Nothing to do with them being close to Friday.
Nothing to do with the fact that I was born on a Thursday.
I just like Thursdays.

Being attempted today:

The writing of begging emails to people in publishing. Why is it I can easily dedicate time and effort to writing blog posts yet doing something which might bring in some cash, I shy away from.
Samuel Johnson was right. "No-one but a blockhead ever wrote except for money".

Snipping of bushes. Being over-run but obviously not over-run enough for me to do anything about it. Until now.

De-scaling of windows. I used to have a window cleaner but he retired or died or something and since then my many windows have had to put up with me and my dishcloth.

De-skinning of chicken legs. I think I must have chicken-on-the-brain.
Always thought of chicken meat as clean meat. Whereas cow and pig meat is grubby meat.

Watching of Columbo. (What about housework?) The one with Faye Dunaway where she, in cahoots with her daughter, kill the handsome Italian man who has been kissing them both. Give him both barrels girls!

Ta ta!

Tiffin On The Brain

~Wimbledon gone, lost interest in the World Cup, so it's back to a cache of recorded films and Columbos!

~Cooked and cooled a large chicken yesterday having decided a roast was inappropriate in dessert temperatures. Not having much of a salad I quartered two toms, diced some pickled beetroot and yanked from the soil a couple of adolescent spring onions. A good dollop of salad cream was then dropped onto some freshly boiled parsleyed pots and hey ho Luncheon is served. For pud. Ice cream and two plucked raspberries.

~If I eat any more carrot, lemon or chocolate cake I'll keel over so it's back to a stalwart of the English kitchen, rumpsy pumpsy Tiffin. After I've penned this, I'll have a wash and crush some biscuits. As Tiffin is an unbaked goodie I can mix the biks (digestives and rich tea) with golden syrup, raisins, butter, chocolate and chopped Brazils then leave to harden in the dark of the fridge.

~I must must must tackle my belly today. The wobbly beast is blobbing out of control. Little horror. And it's my own fault on account of occasionally forgetting to stick myself to the shag pile and crunch those abs. At heart I'm a fat and lazy gal.

Bye!

:)
