A brief visit this afternoon along with Mr Horsehound, Mr and Mrs Hairy Suit and youngster the little Hairy Suit. (14 years old and growing even taller than his daddy) We, that's little hairy suit and me were married by vicar in residence the ever so venerable Mr Horsehound wearing a tea cosy on his head and a napkin around his neck.
Such is the plain joy of childhood.
While the chaps were playing football Mrs Hairy Suit did the dishes and I made tie backs for the lace curtains.
Then all five of us ate sausage rolls and meatloaf, drank lots of tea and cranberry juice then with much sadness we bid the Two Ducks a fond farewell.
I didn't want to leave. I like it there. Inside the lavender scented rooms.
Home to mum and her battles.

Another Day. Another Home
Yesterday was brilliant.
Bagged some fab bargains.
Silver plated teaspoons spoons. Need polishing. (£1) Vintage bone china serving dish. Perfect condition. (£2) Crisp white table runner. (£1) 4 DMC threads. Black, green, blue, red (80p) Pale pink embroidered tunic (dump bin £1) Small Oriental looking cat in blue silver and red (20p) 3 small sherry sized glasses in dusky rose (60p)
Also bought was.....................Ta Da!!!!
A Green and White Willerby Caravan with brown and pink interior. Pastel Pink bathroom. Nutmeg brown and rose pink bedrooms. Caramel, gold and cream kitchen. Nut brown, rose and beige front room. Enough storage space for everything. A round sink in the kitchen. Oodles of cupboards. And a tree parked outside!
Mr Hairy Suit and myself locked heads and finally came to the decision that a space of our own was needed. A place to hang out as the Americans say. We found it and after lots of careful thought and consideration we went for it man.
We popped down to Wallasea Island yesterday to see it again, ducks roam from caravan to caravan and the air is clean and the river Crouch a stones throw away I feel I could do some seriously creative work down there.
There are of course things that need doing. Behind the Two Ducks as we're calling the caravan lies an overgrown patch of garden which will be tidied up and in time made into a space for a chair or two.
We also need to install some decking so mum can be wheeled up to the front door. Other than that Two Little Ducks is ready to go................
So yes yesterday was quite invigorating.

Another Day, Another Scarf
Out and about this morning, mad mum in her pink flowered tunic and old black trousers, sane me in a beige shift dress from Oxfam, and, wrapped around my head, a rose printed scarf.
Poor Mr Hairy Suit...
It's a wonder I'm taking mother out after last night's hullaballoo. Suffice to say it was horrific. Mother I can only assume is losing the plot...
But we all slept alright and now in the warm light of a brand new day all is forgiven if not forgotten. I dare say when I'm crotchety I'll accuse my loving carers of trying to poison me
But we go on don't we? We have to.
So in a little while after I've made up mums face in shades of coral and blue we'll tootle off to bag bargains and, if she's in a good mood , we'll have a pie and mash lunch...

Sunshine and Scarves
Monday morning and all is well.
Mother peeking out from her bed covers, blue eyes unable to see properly but a cheery "Hello" coming my way.
Her determination merits a medal.
If mother's ailments aren't giving her too much pain we, along with Mr Hairy Suit, will tootle off to the shops. Three actually. Two charity shops and one post office. It's become a regular thing this Monday morning outing and that's fine, because there's nothing wrong with sameness, in fact sameness can be comforting.
Except when it comes to hairstyles.
I've gone for a new look.
I'm wearing a red and white flowered silk headscarf tied around my short grey locks and I feel as if I've come home. AT last a look I'm totally at ease with. I might even allow my hair to grow long again. I'll see. But for the moment a scarfed short haired look does the business.
I've been Cross Stitching again.
A hobby I used to love.
It must be twenty years since I pushed a needle through a piece of 14 count Aida. But recently I felt the urge to get crafting again. So I tipped the place upside down looking for my old books, charts and sketches. Eh Voila! Found them.
And not being one to procrastinate I set about making a simple bookmark for Hairy Suit's dad, a basic bookmark showing a gaily coloured locomotive. Dad being an lover of model railways I thought he'd be tickled by it and although it's a childishly simple design I'm really happy with it. I stitched on a maroon ribbon so as to make a hanging thing. And above the train the octogenarian's name in bold navy blue cotton.
I put the finishing touches it to it yesterday as I watched or should I say listened to, Djokovic vs. Federer in a spectacular Wimbledon Final. The Swiss finally falling to the power of the Serb. And as the crowd whooped I cut the thread on the first of a new wave of Cross Stitch projects.

Felt refreshed after walking in the rain to the Co-Op, then on the way home I thought carefully about Today.
Chocolate Chip Muffins. Something simple to make.
Will Eugenie Bouchard win. Her first Final.
Chicken Chi Chi and Pearl Barley for tea.
Love and it's complications.
The prospect of being wired up to monitor my heart. Probably soon. Will wear it continuously. 1 day. 2 days maybe more. Blast. Doc was cautious. Blah blah in deep tones about heart scan, soothing though. Pleasant man.
Then key in door and mum talking jibberish.

Looks Like Another Beautiful Day
And after grocery shopping and quick lunch I'm off to see the Heart Man at the hospital. And it's a great day at wimbles too. I'm hoping for a quick consultation with the ticker doc then it's back to the bungalow for sausage and tennis.
Good Luck to Eugenie Bouchard.

Dust Settled
After a shocking day with mother yesterday I sat on her bed this morning and told her... 1. I was fed up with her tongue lashings 2. I'm not a skivvy. 3. I slept under the covers to get away from her and her commode and 3. She will stick to my schedule.
So after chattering about today's exciting schedule at Wimbledon I left her to think about things...
So far all is fine.
Before we watch some tennis though she needs to see the Diabetes nurse down at the surgery ( which she doesn't want to do) so being the decent twat I am I'm taking her first to a couple of charity shops...just to take the sting out of it.
Today's schedule at Wimbles is terrific.
Murray v Dimitrov on Centre
Federer v Cillic
Heart throb Raonic v. Other heart throb Kyrigos (who outpleyed and out aced nadal yesterday in a thrilling match.
And my favourite girl player, the delightfully gorgeous Eugenie Bouchard plays Angie Kerber, the girl who upset Sharapova yesterday. It was one of the best girlie games I've ever seen and I've seen millions over a forty year period, dear.
So to make a good day....I'm hoping for a Murray win, a Bouchard win, a Federer win, a Djokovic win... a Kyrigos win.
That's all.
