Found today in shops

  • Retro Blue Enamel Pie dish, love at first touch. Can one love a piece of kitsch kitchen kit?
  • Retro 1960's sugar dispenser with yellow plastic lid, utilitarian, homely, cute. (20p)
  • Very old glass tea jar with cream coloured tin lid, tall, elegant now holding loose tea and long handled spoon
  • Embossed glass bottle with cork stopper, has a foreign feel, Sunflower oil looks healthier in glass.
  • Stainless Steel mixing bowl, well used but very good looking. Imagining whipping up clouds of egg whites for Lemon Meringue Pies.
  • Fringed tan leather jacket. When I'm not baking I'm trying to rock. Mrs Beeton meets Janis Joplin
  • William Hope Hodgson's 1908 novel The House on the Borderland. "This extraordinary novel defies categorisation .It is galactic adventures, prophetic fantasy, macabre romance and drugless trip, and brilliantly unites its many disturbing elements, easily equalling, if not surpassing all predecessors and contemporaries  (including Jules Verne, Rider Haggard, and H.G.Wells). It is high time Hodgson's masterpiece was made available to the myriad readers he deserves." Aleksis Lykiard
