Just walked around the garden and was shocked.
I've left my small patch to run a bit wild and now I'm paying a heavy price. That's why I bantered with Old Graham. Thought maybe we could come to an arrangement whereby he'd sort out the mess for very little or no payment. But it's not just the green stuff which needs tidying it's the detritus by the garage. Broken fence panels, broken lawn mowers and odds and ends of an oily nature all going to make an almighty eye sore.
Other ghastly items by the conifers....
Three legged tables. 'Twas a good table in its day.
Shelves. Pine but totally stained.
Paint from 1999.
Parasols. Blue. Wanted green.
Bricks. Found in the garage and used as hold-ups for aforementioned pine shelves.
Buckets. Large and ugly.
Bags of stones. Can't remember where it came from.
BBQ fork. Bought on a hot day no doubt.
Fish Holder. Bought when I was into Turbot.
A skip may be called for on account of the amount of rubbish and the fact that I don't know how to get to the council's recycling place. (Wouldn't get it in the car either)
The accumulating of general junk has always been a problem with me, just can't bear to throw things away even shattered planks of wood, holey buckets, long lengths of cable and stuff of that ilk.
But my brief walk around the garden has made me feel both angry and sad. Something has to be done.
Starting NOW...
Gloria in Destruct/Construct Mode.....

Boxing Day Glo

The chicken pie was made quickly, likewise a full and fruity tea bread, but then...oh dear...my mood dropped sharply, but having learnt from vast past experiences I donned a frock and posed...
And now all is very definitely well.
Mr H. was on hand with his new camera, my Christmas present to him. It is, I'm pleased to report, a smashing success. It has features:)
Anyway when all the dreadful posing was done Mr H. made me sepia because I looked a bit 'flapperish' in the top photograph.
I do so love hamming it up...
So what now?
Music and tea.
And later?
A large ginger wine and that blasted chicken pie.

Monday with Henry
He wanted to know why I wouldn't go to an Am Dram production with him on Saturday. 'You must have been joking' I said 'I don't have anything to do with actorly sorts.'
Henry was a bit pickled having been on the wine for three days but bless him it didn't stop him smoking five cigarettes in one hour. Puff puff puff...:( I wonder what his lungs look like.
'Cutting down on the sugar' he said as his rotund body shifted on the poor stool. 'And have you seen my gym stuff?'
'Ok darling and no darling'. Was my tired reply.
And as he yacked on the phone about: Councillors. The Square. Champagne. Fuses and redundancy I took myself out of the arena.
But what a weekend Henry's cleaner had.
Wore a killer dress drinking Pimm's. Gooey Pimm's. Yummy company.
Saw an old neighbour and hit him on the arm with my gloves.
"Didn't know you come here" he said eloquently
I smiled a knock-him-for-six smile.
"Sometimes. You're looking well. Gotta dash. See you in five years"
Chinese.
Bacon.
Wayward coat.
Late nights.
And then Monday came...
Drove Aleks to Henry's in the rain.
Tried to do a three point turn with the handbrake on.
And now Onken yogurt with cat love and cat hairs:)

Things I've got a thing about
Biros- Big blue ones. Five in my bag. All Henry's. But I will lift other people's too
My neck- Obsessing about sagging. Covering up is not an option because folk get a shock when you drop your jumper. Bare it. Bugger it.
Blonde hair- It's a-coming. I feel it. I live in Essex and have finally caught the blonde bug. But my shoes are not white and I have not been dipped in Bisto. And I use words like 'hello' instead of 'hiya'.
The X Factor- Always look forward to it. Makes my night. I'm as high as a kite if a Chinese is on me lap too
Lip Gloss- Long stay. Might need to kiss someone after I've been out a while. Will probably be after sinking three Pimm's. By the way Pimm's now do a Winter version. Saw it today and immediately thought of Christmas
Dennis Quaid- In the re-make of 'Flight of The Phoenix'. Is he the world's most perfect man? He is in this film. He's a fractious handsome pilot hero with a great big chip on his shoulder because he was responsible for the deaths of like three passengers
You Tube- I search for records, play them loudly and can save them. It's great!
Went out today and...
had a McDonalds
bought a pair of leather boots
and a plastic purple handbag from Primark.
Men's Jeans- How well they sometimes fit

Wasps Made Me Do It
Wasn't going to write for a while but...
At Ray's today I was met by a swarm of wasps. Swarm of wasps? Is that right? Or does swarm only refer to bees, anyway I was met by some.
I went into the normally quiet kitchen and heard the familiar nasty threatening sound of , I would say, about fifty or so wasps. Flipping heck I thought, better not make them angry so I left the kitchen and went upstairs, hoping that on my return they'd be gone.
Wrong.
So thinking like the little soldier I am, I donned one of Ray's baseball caps for protection pulling it as far down as possible and then tentatively manoeuvered around them with my J cloth, making sure I didn't get them rattled. Then one of the pussies bundled in via the catflap, it was the smallest one...the angelic one...my favourite.
What'll I do if the cat gets kitty rage and takes on the wasps? What could I do to save the cat? The images which drifted in and out of my head were horrific, so I gently persuaded the tortoiseshell angel to leave by picking him up with one hand and dumping him in the bath. He miaowed of course, like I was the wickedest woman on earth, meanwhile I got to grips in the front room.
All was well.
Then I had to hoover.
The kitchen.
So after reassuring kitty I went into colonial marine mode. I sweetly aimed my nozzle at a bunch of the buggers, only managing to suck up two of the little horrors, but at least I was getting stuff done. They continued flying around the back door, which to my annoyance was locked so I decrumbed the toaster, polished several knobs and fancies and gingerly lifted a laptop from one worktop to another. All the time keeping a rheumy eye on the stingers.
The swarm ignored me.
Then I saw one of them walk into one of Ray's upturned boots! Bugger. I like Ray and all that but not enought to risk getting set upon, so after rapidly doing my bits and pieces I left him a note on dayglo pink paper warning him to beware his boots.
I left early.
