Mrs Horsehound's 6ft. Bookcase

Here it is.
The bookcase.
Underneath the recipe books are two other shelves of recipe books. Much larger beasts but just as tatty and loved. The knick knacks are the best of my knick knacks, the others being displayed on the dresser in the front room.
The lace on the shelves are cut up net curtains which although undoubtedly naff at windows look awfully pretty covering Melamine!
If I had to choose a favourite out of the favourites I think it would be the small round yellow bowl which sits alongside the recipe books. It is a delightful piece.
Now, as Monty sulks in the conservatory, I must take out my mid-afternoon pre-menstrual angst on a homemade Meatball.
Thank you very much.
If you click on the pic you'll get a bigger version and be able to inspect my knick knacks..Close up!

Lovely, simply lovely. Now I have to ask you, since you are a Brit, if the buzz over there is as much as it is over here about Mrs. Obama breaking rules over touching the Queen? It's plastered on every news site and every paper! I think it was reciprocated by the Queen, though. Hmmmm....She seemed to like them well enough.

I'm enjoying a nice beef chop suey with shrimp fried rice. For dinner I am making porcupine balls...It's not the actual balls from a porcupine, but ground beef and rice formed into balls and then simmered in a tomato sauce.

The little Duchess has an indoor footie game tonight, let's hope she doesn't make anyone cry again.

I'm feeling better today, I actually got showered and dressed and came to work. That was horrible! It hit me hard. I'm still coughing, but I feel better.

The kids will be home from school all week next because they are on spring break. Yea, I'm so not excited. They've turned into little slobs. I like things tidy and orderly but they can wreak havoc in about 10 minutes.

Well, I must get back to work, have a wonderful weekend and maybe I'll peek in to see if I can have a little natter with my favorite plank.

Your Duchess

It's not made the headlines, but I bet it's been mentioned somewhere. It's just not the done thing to touch up Aunty Betty! The Duke of Edinburgh who is the Queen's husband, is always making gaffes such as...When President Obama told Her Majesty that he'd met many heads of state that day, the Duke said "Can you tell the difference?".
He is well known for his jokes!!!
The Queen on the other hand tends to be more formal. Unlike THIS QUEEN!
Love the sound of the Porcupine Balls. I'm not saying another word...
Except that if you click on the picture you'll get a close up of the knick knacks.
Glad you're feeling better Duch, work can that have that effect!

Have a nice day as you guys say.
Cheerio from the Plank
